‘Embracing differences reminds me to always try my best to keep an open mind and look at things from different points of views without judgments. My work represents this perspective through observation. I want the viewer to be completely free in viewing these representations. Who and what we are and how we identify is up to the individual. I want everyone to relate to my figures. I show the relationship between the natural world and the man-made world. The softness represents the organic materials of the planet we live on, the hard shapes is the digital world we live in, even if only inside our busy heads. We are all the same yet also so very different. It’s a wonder to me how we judge one another. In our world with so many differences, we are made of the same things both material and immaterial. I don’t want to limit myself in my work nor limit the viewer. I wonder why we limit ourselves in our lives.
